So, please post some recommendations for 7800 games? I will have one soon and want to see what is good there.
Mr.Kizza
Ok T2K here we go, I've listed the best games in each catagory (I have a complete collection too)

Beat 'em ups Double Dragon, Rampage, Ninja Golf
Sports Title Match Wrestling, Mean 18 Golf, Basketbrawl, One-on-One Basketball, Water Ski, Ballblazer
Arcade adventure Xenophobe, Impossible Mission, Midnight Mutants, Super Skateboardin'
Driving Fatal Run, Pole Position 2, Motor Psycho
Puzzle Klax
Platformers Scrapyard Dog, Joust, Mario Bros.

I like Asteroids, Galaga, Xevious.
Mr.Kizza
I didn't include Asteroids actully because its built into the Pal consoles, Its separate over there isn't it? Well worth having though.

Cool stuff, but can I ask why in the Hell you have Joust listed as a Platformer? Just curious boss. wink.gif

Commando, Centipede, BallBlazer, Food Fight, Galaga, Scrapyard Dog, Midnight Mutants, Joust, Alien Brigade, Crossbow and Ms Pac-Man are my recommendations. cool.gif

I thought Ms Pac Man was hard to play on the 7800. Don't the ghosts change for about a second and a half before they can attack you again?

Not on the first level or two. If they did I never noticed that but they do change very quickly when you reach the blue maze after the intermission.

Still, I recommend the fast version of this game(although it doesn't exist as a cart unfortunately). It speeds Ms. Pac-Man up and not the ghosts so it's closer to the arcade version. Makes it a little easier to cope with in the later levels. biggrin.gif

I have never noticed that.

I think the 7800 version is easily the best conversion. After all it was programmed by GCC who did the original arcade game.

Okay, just so that we are clear on that! wink.gif Joust is always a good game, I really have only played one bad version and it was on the NES, what a suprise! rolleyes.gif

I forgot to mention Tower Toppler. Awesome game, although it is difficult. But nevertheless it's a lot of fun. You make your way up a tower with enemies and obstacles to worry about. The effect for the rotating tower is one of the coolest things you'll see on the 7800, something that I'm sure the NES would have trouble doing in the same manner. The bonus rounds also turn into a side-scrolling shooter with parallax scrolling! There might be a version of this game for the NES, I'm not really sure, but either way it's one of the best titles on the 7800.

Cool, I have this game coming to me as well, so I look forward to it also! Thanx' Shaggy! biggrin.gif

Cool, I think you will like it although if it starts warping up levels, it's because the 2nd player difficulty switch is on the wrong setting. Just in case that happens. wink.gif

That is good to know. I will keep it in mind. Now, all I need to do is get some of those joy pads for the 7800! cool.gif

I loved playing this game on my Atari ST. I came bundled in the Power Pack (20 games) that came with the 520 STFM or STE units for a while. The game however was called Nebulus, not Tower Toppler. Perhaps it's got to do with the regions? unsure.gif

I wondered about that too when I stumbled across Nebulus by accident on atarilegend.com. It looks even better on the ST
