I swear I'm gonna start a "
Kindly stfu about Battlesphere already cos I'm sooooooo jealous I don't have it" society some day soon, lol!
Seriously, I wish I had of been into Jaguar back when Battlesphere was originally available as I'd have put my name down straight away as I have done for pretty much everything since being on the scene, e.g. Painter SE, BI/WN rev.23, Jaguar Press Conference DVD, JS-II t-shirts, Skunkboard rev.2 etc. I'm insanely envious, in a nice way, of those who own the game and not simply because of its value as a collectors item. Reading various sources here, in printed media and elsewhere on the 'net describing it as a/the title that genuinely seeks to wring every last ounce out of Jaguar's true potential makes me dizzy. Yes, I've watched the vids on Youtube etc but as is the case for most games it never really reflects the interactive nature of "being there".
To be honest, whenever a Battlesphere Gold cart has surfaced for sale since owning Jaguar I've wrestled with paying out what it'd take to snag it. An approximate current market value for a CIB Battlesphere Gold would be in the region of US$600 (please feel free to correct me if that's inaccurate) from what I can determine. Without at all wishing to sound arrogant, affording that wouldn't be an issue but I simply can't within my own mind justify to myself paying what amounts to approximately Ģ450 for a video game. I guess if I happened to be part of the SNK Neo Geo AES scene then such a sum would maybe be small potatoes but...
I guess I'm just trying to say how cool it is that Jaguar has such an exclusive title in existence (it does add a certain kudos, let's be honest) and I'm happy for those who get to experience Jaguar at its best. I just wish that I one day get to see and/or play it someplace. I guess a future JagFest UK would represent my best hope...
