Thanks, Linko!

Not a real special bike by any means. It's Trek 1200. I wasn't sure when I started this if I wanted to spend a whole lot on a bike and find out I hated it. I picked one in the middle of the line and have been happy so far.

Is your ride hilly or flat? I wish I didn't live in the mountains now!

I was exactly the same when I started about 12 months ago.. set myself a budjet of 250 UKP then spent 364 UKP on a Scott YZ1 Disc smile.gif

Alas some thieving scrote nicked it in April (1 year after I started riding sad.gif ) and after some heavy customization. Thankfully the insurance went in my favour and I now ride a Scott Reflex FX-35 with Hayes nines disc brake upgrade.

More of an XC MTBer myself smile.gif Roads are ok but theres just something about riding through mud and water (which we have in abundance in the north of the UK) and down rocky paths.

If you haven't already I would suggest you go for Clipless pedals, Crank Brothers egg beaters would probs be best suited for road riding as I imagine you don't need a platform so much? Although if you decide to go for the lighter TI ultra models, check your weight as they have rider weight limits! I can't use them smile.gif

Good luck with the cycling, it's a top hobby to have and can give you some gorgious scenery to look at and gets you fit quick.

My ride I think is going to be a fairly flat ride, not sure it's from Manchester to Blackpool, sould could be quite hilly but all on road so not too bad.

I couldn't agree more. At first I was leery of clipless pedals because I had friends who toppled over trying to clip out when stopping and they quit using them, but my bike came with them so I got the shoes and all that in the deal when I got the bike.

I eventually replaced them with Mountain Bike SPD's that can clip from either side, which is a lot quicker and easier than the single sides original ones. The new ones were in fact slightly lighter too.

Been having a lot of fun and getting better because my friends all are improving as I improve so they're always just slightly faster than me and that makes me get faster to keep up.

thats the same as what I am attempting, I have several MTB lovinbg friends of varying skill, some more advanced than others. One chap is roughly the same age as me but fitter so he is my goal, if i can match him I am doing well smile.gif

There were single sided ones on my bike when I went to buy it in the shop, I had them removed before I took it home smile.gif bloody aweful shimano things with plastic plates clipped to one side, blergh. The Crank Bros I have are the mallets which I can use without clips if I want to, which can be benificial when you may need to stop unexpectidly. Had one or two 'comedy' (for everyone else) spills where the clipping didn't go to plan smile.gif

Plus it has given me a new apprciation for Pasta smile.gif not a big fan of italian food on the whole, but a big bowl of pasta the evening before a ride.. it's like a never ending source of energy has been dumped in your legs smile.gif

Hmmmm, given how this conversation is going... do you think we had best stop before other JSII members start pinching themselves or checking for parallel universes smile.gif

Really though T-Bird.....AFTER the auction, go ahead and post the ENTIRE song.
I really should not let you as it is a sloppy draft, but maybe I should refine it then let you post it.

In the cart however, I hope that you cut out most of my bad playing
(which is about 90% of the song! tongue.gif)

I actually let the first approximately 22 seconds play, followed by the last 5 seconds. Nobody I've played it for notices the edit, but it's probably obnoxious to you.

I anticipated about $1,400.00, who knows tho. I think that I'll need to sell a leg if it goes too high.

Ah but he didn't say what he sold it for... Given his fascination with Donkey Genitalia, who knows maybe for a weekend along with Samson the Donkey was the price he sold for smile.gif

Plus why fear Jay his collection is small and insignificant, I doubt he would be interested in a unique item anyway! pah! smile.gif

Ah, technical question. The auction claims to have broken the 32Mbit limit (4MB) of a Jag cart, but isn't the actual limit 48 Mbit (6MB) although never used ? And yes of course this cart is I am assuming closer to 64Mbit so still breaking the limit.

Just questioning the accuracy of the limit smile.gif

Arenīt there any safety measures against this?

Do they take you to some kind of website or something where you can submit money or something???

It really sounds like some kind of "phishing" scame where they email you and pretend to be a valid site and you go to log into a screen that looks just like the regular ebay signin screen and when you type your name and password, they save it and use it to buy stuff!

QUOTE (Thunderbird @ Apr 22 2006, 08:27 AM)
Hello BattleSphere™ Fans!

I recently accepted the challenge of cycling in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure fund-raising event. The Tour de Cure is a series of cycling events held in over 80 cities nationwide. The Tour is a ride, not a race; it features different route lengths from a leisurely 6-mile course to a demanding 100-mile journey (the ride I am doing). I have joined thousands of others to pedal in support of the Association's mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

As fans of BattleSphere™, you all know that support of diabetes research helped not only to get the game released, but also to bring about the open system status of the Jaguar itself!

I am asking you to help by supporting my fund-raising efforts for my 100 mile journey with a donation. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference in the lives of the 20.8 million Americans who suffer from diabetes and the 40 million people in the United States with pre-diabetes.

It's fast and easy to support this great cause - you can make your donation online by simply clicking the link at the bottom of this message. If you want to do even more to help, please consider joining me in this great event in your home town. Our efforts will help set the pace in the fight against diabetes.

Any amount, great or small, helps in the fight against this deadly disease. I greatly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress. I am very excited to see the participation level of the Jaguar community and would be deeply indebted to all who help me out!

More information on the American Diabetes Association, its programs and diabetes in general can be found at the Association's Web site: www.diabetes.org
