I hate to speculate (ok I admit it... I LOVE to speculate) but if I was to read between the lines there T-Bird.... would that mean there's some work being done to port BattleSphere to a current generation system?!!?

I wasn’t scrutinizing you, so you shouldn’t have interpreted it as such. In fact, I was trying to steer people away from bugging you about porting. If you need that type of reassurance from fanboys, then I deeply apologize.
I have heard you say countless times that you don’t have time to make carts. Without inside knowledge, what else would I be able to conclude other than you’re really busy? I find it interesting how you don’t want people to completely know what’s going on, but you drop these little clues here and there that could be interpreted a million different ways. If you’re not going to do anything, then wonderful and if you are going to do something, then that’s great, too. What you shouldn’t be doing is coming on here and getting sharp with people, because they’re repeating what you have previously said.

I'll get sharp with anyone who speaks contrary to what has been previously stated or questions statements I have made. If I say I'm doing something with a particular game, then that's exactly what I'm doing.
People here know that every promise I have made regarding development has been kept, so why sit back and throw your little negative doubtful comments my way?
The reason for not telling you all the little details is that nobody needs to know details of what we are doing but us. If I did it would just give you more things to act doubtful of and give more fuel for some flamers lurking around under false ID's.
I'm sure if I made everything I've worked on public, it will only generate more animosity and resentment and I'd rather not deal with that.

Do entertain me and state one negative comment I’ve made about you, BS boy. Well, except for that one.
If you look outside your window, you will see a great, big, white world. It’s a waste to get flustered, because someone said that you don’t have a lot of free time. If you have an abundance of free time, do you think you could give me a hand with work or cut my grass?
Hell, I like staying busy and I like always have something to do. If you can’t handle another person acknowledging that you may have a busy life, you have some serious, deep rooted issues to deal with.

I don't care if you say I don't have free time.
I said we were working on a project and you piped in with your "If they don't have time to make more carts, how can they do this" type comments...
This is just more of the same tired old complaining I have to deal with because someone was too lazy to buy a copy during the 3 years it was available and now they have to make sarcastic comments because we stopped making them.

Feb 16 2006, 10:08 PM
Hold up, BS man, if you recall, I purchased a copy directly from you a few years back.
I think it’s crap, when artists say that they don't want to produce such a piece any more. Who the hell made such artists gods? Shouldn’t the consumer have the right to purchase something, if they desire it? If the artist isn’t willing to step up to the plate, then shouldn’t someone else be allowed to produce such a piece, while making sure the artist is covered?
You kill me, man. You’re willing to sit here, make fun of people for spending $500, then not do a damn thing to change the situation. Do you have no compassion or respect for your work? If you’re not willing to be a man, then fine, let Jay do something about it.
People should have the right to experience and express themselves in whatever fashion they want. Instead of delivering a screw you to people that want to purchase your game, you should be doing everything in your power to deliver the product. Do you feel honored that people are willing to spend $500 on a game that you created or do you think it’s all a bunch of crap?
You’re old enough to remember the slogan, knowledge is power. When the hell did that leave your mind? Or, did you think that saying was only limited to big brother?
We live in a world of can and should. I can do this or I should have done this. Well, bro, you have the ability to do anything you want to do. We’re all here for you, man. Like I’ve said, I can front the finances for another run. I know other people on here that can burn the EPROMS and assemble the carts. I know you can allow people to do this for you. And, I know that deep down in your heart someplace, you know that you should take us, the Jaguar community, up on this offer.
Come on, bro.

Judging from your attitude regarding artists and consumers rights to make and buy things, it's pretty clear that your past comments were in fact little slams against us.
You're no better than that other publisher, who made overtures to produce our game and then made comments like these we see here to try and create public pressure to force us to agree to the piss-poor offer.
The problem with people like you is that you're selfish with other people's property and work. You don't know any of the details, so you jump to conclusions and then get all mad because you can't get your way. For all you know, there's a reason OTHER than us being jerks that prevents us from making more Jaguar carts. Maybe there's legal reasons which we are not allowed to discuss. Maybe there's negotiations ongoing which we don't want to reveal that producing more carts would have a negative impact on.
You don't know squat about what is going on, and you selfishly refuse to accept that we might be doing what's best in the long-run because you only want to see things from your perspective.
I don't need to listen to you lecture me about subjects of which you only have 5% of the facts.

Guys, I'd hate to move this to the flame war forum, but if it hits 13 pages, it's going....
Just a few comments from your illustrious admin.

Tbird, I don't think Minux was attacking you, but I know this is a sensitive area for you.
Minux, I'm pretty sure I have a good idea why Tbird has chosen not to produce more carts, but regardless, in the end, it is his choice. I'd be more than happy to make more for him and give him every nickel of profit, but that's probably not a realistic option due to other factors.
It's all good. BS is a great Jaguar title, a defining Jaguar title. We can just hope it makes its way onto another platform someday or the Jaggy again or both???

It seems standard MO, that ever year or two, someone will come along and and suggest a way for T-Bird/Scatologic to produce more carts or have another Jaguar publisher produce more Battlesphere carts. I know I was one of those jackarses 3 or 4 years ago on JI2.

Which is only natural I guess, if you've been out of the scene for a while or are new the the Jaguar scene. T-Bird said no in his own special way

, so I just dropped it and it was done. Minux can't seem to drop it though and the BS boy/BS man comments don't help.
I eventually got a copy of Battlesphere though, so I'm happy. Thanks, TBird.

An odd thing happend to me. I had my name on there for about a year and I got an email from XBOX Live saying I had to change it because it was "Too Similar" to another user's name. They said I would get a free game if I changed the name to something else.
I assumed it was a phising scam and deleted the message.
I merrily used my XBOX live until one day I signed on and it said my user name was invalid and I had to enter another one. When I entered my name again it said it was already taken.
I don't know what that was all about, but I'm guessing someone high up in their corporation decided they wanted the name, so they tried to get me to do it for a game and when I didn't, they forced it.

Was it something that had a space in the name? Thunder Bird for example? Because if it was (I believe early Live usernames allowed spaces) then I do recall receiving the email from Microsoft and other people did get the free game as consideration for changing their name.
I thought it was a scam too until I read about it on IGN and a couple other gamesites.

There's always BS like this going on with big corporations. We once got a request from Gateway to hand out a free Extended warranty to some friend or family member of a corporate exec even though according to their own policy Gateway retail systems cannot have an extended warranty. They'll bend the rules for people they know, but they don't even blink when they can screw the consumer over.

How come this most excellent thread has degenerated into having almost nothing to do with Battlesphere The game?
Wouldn´t there be enough material to start off a new thread where we can discuss the finer nuances of the game, share strategies and all things Battlesphere-related that doesn´t necessarily focus on why some people aren´t playing the game?
(waits for some wiseass to ask me why I don´t just start a new thread...)

Wouldn´t there be enough material to start off a new thread where we can discuss the finer nuances of the game, share strategies and all things Battlesphere-related that doesn´t necessarily focus on why some people aren´t playing the game?
(waits for some wiseass to ask me why I don´t just start a new thread...) |
So why don't you start a new thread! I'll try to split the thread off and move the "junk"..... I'd like this to focus on the game as well, it's just always hard for us here on JSII to focus on anything! |
What's this BattleSphere everyone keeps talking about?
|
It's this SWEET ASS game that no one can afford to buy.....

Maybe this has been asked but would BS have worked as a CD? Is there a quality for carts that the CD can't provide? A jag CD at least?

I have never said anything about BSG at all, but now I will:
I regret that I wasn’t part of the community when Battlesphere was released. I would love to buy it it if another (JSII exclusive

) run would be produced but I guess it won’t happen. I also think that while AA has some big problem with some idiots, JSII is a great forum where everyone who puts time and work in some Jaguar stuff is treated well. Even though I have just done a cover for Jagwired many people seem to appreciate this.
I have never had anything against anybody here and I am sad that these guys who say shit about i.e. T-Bird prevent T-Bird doing anything for the Jag in the future.
Personally, I would ignore them and just do JSII exclusive stuff.
P.S. I love this place!

Hey, I didn't stop playing with my jag. I even made a free windows based encryption tool for cartridges and gave it away. I still like to work on stuff and help people out. I just don't want the controversey that selling stuff seems to cause. I don't have much free time these days either.

I was only refering to Jag developement. Mayby I should have made this more clear because I know that you always help people out.
Also this was meant as an encourangement and to show respect for you and your work, nothing more!

Mike RULES!
Tbird has always helped me out too. I don't know how he got this reputation of not helping people out. Oh wait, I know, but I don't want to start a flame war in the BS pinned thread....
