Full Version: BERZERK blasts it's way onto the C64
Atari Jaguar Sector II > JSII Video Game Zone > Other Systems

Man, I am telling you all, I love my Commodore 64. The system is boss. Finally, after all of this time, BERZERK has been completely rewritten from the ground up and what we have here is an Arcade Perfect conversion of the Stern classic. Even better is the fact that it has every bit of the voise involved as well. I can honestly say that this is not only the best home version of the arcade classic I have ever played, it is also the forthcoming game that may lead to us getting Frenzy as well. This version slaughters the 5200 version, hands down and the best part? It's freakin' freeware! Have a look see!

Hey Guys, what the Hell? Are there no C64 fans here now? Where the Berzerk crew at? Holla' if ya' hear me!

hehe.. nice that you're excited, but it doesn't look like the arcade. What makes it arcade perfect versus the other ports?

I'm being nitpicky just for conversation's sake, I liked Berzerk but never had a 64.

(Looked it up to compare - it does look pretty close. I wonder why they chose a grid for the yellow wall instead of just coloring it...?)

Not sure about that, but really, it plays so well and all of the sounds are there and everything. They really sis so a great job. For a homebrew project for the Commodore, it was ambitious to convert BERZERK as it is and they nailed it.

Ah, the C64 usually does a pretty decent job on the gameplay side of games, at least, and graphics were not too bad!

I am honored. It looks like I will be doing the box art for a limited release of this for the CommVEx show that happens this July. Makes me happy and feel very honored to be given this responsibility. I'll post what they look like when they are finished.

In case anyone wonders, CommVEx is the Commodore Vegas Expo that is held every year in Las Vegas. Awesome.
