After many years of indecision and doubt I've finally made the move to go back to school. I've been accepted into the Art Institute online and have all my funding figured out. I start the first part of April and the degree is Bachelor of computer science in Game Art and Design. I'm excited to have a future in the game industry and can't wait to begin learning more in the field.

How does this online thing work? Do you not actually attend classes? Maybe submit your work online? Is it expensive?

It sounds interesting. I'm curious!

Congrats on getting accepted!

Thanks!

It's all online. They have an online classroom setup where your instructor leaves assignments and you can communicate and participate with classmates and instructors. You are given assignments and due dates and you turn it in online. From what it looks like it's going to be about 11,000 per year. It is an accredited school and many people have left the school and gone straight to developers. The guy I talked to is doing game testing while he's in school. During the last year they can help you get setup as an intern at an actual developer if you want to.
