There can never truly be a "last run" of anything, because while it might be cool for you or someone else who just came back onto the scene and missed the original run, there will always be someone else right behind you who will miss that "last" run. Then they will demand another "last" run and the cycle will continue.

Can't please everyone, you know.

This is pretty much what happened every time.

You see it with Jay's Extremist packs, even in the Vectrex scene with limited edition games or any game community with homebrew guys putting out games. People in the know at the time get the game, and then people come around later and want the game for next to nothing. Such is life - either be there when it gets released or pay the high price later. Whining about it to the rest of the community or especially to the game's developer isn't doing anyone any good.

Perhaps he could re-release them with a glow around the Jaguar logo?

People would have to pay the buyers to take them away on ebay.

Hey dude, I hope that you aren't referring to me, as I'm not whining. I'm saying if another run goes through, cool, if not, well, then there you have it. No problems. I will see how this trend pans out once Metro Blaster is finished. I will probably be able to identify with you at that point, who knows.

No not you in particular, it just always happens with limited run games. No offense.

I just stumbled across this old email. I hope it's OK to post. I edited out some of the details but you get the point. Kind of worth archiving in this thread. wink.gif I am pretty sure I had just gotten home from dinner with a friend when I got this and about fell out of the chair when I saw it. wink.gif

Subject: Code [X]: Authorized to buy two Battle Sphere cartridges
Date: Sat, 18 Mar 2000 22:12:57 -0800 (PST)
From: Stephanie Wukovitz <[X]>
To: [X]

Dear Lucky Battle Sphere fan,

You are authorized to purchase two Battle Sphere cartridges!

The response to our request form was overwhelming; we received
many more requests than we have cartridges to sell.  We hope to
produce a second run and are inquiring now about prices and other
details.  We will email you about the second run when we have
more details, as some people have expressed the desire to
purchase more cartridges or may wish to do so once they have
played the game.

Here are the steps we need you to follow to ensure that your
payment is received and your cartridges arrive without incident
(at least on our end!)

If you fail to follow these guidelines, your order could be
delayed or cancelled, so PLEASE read them carefully!  We are not
imposing these guidelines to be arbitrary!

1.  Get a check or money order for

$149.90 if you are in the US but not in the state of  CA
$161.46 if you are in the US and in the state of CA
$154.90 if you are not located in the US

We will wait until personal checks clear to send your cartridges,
so obviously a cashier's check or money order will be faster.
It should be made out to:

  Scatologic, Inc.

Please do NOT make the check out to any of us personally -- we
will not cash it if you do -- and DO NOT SEND CASH.

2.  Please include a slip of paper inside the envelope with your correct
  shipping address.

3.  The envelope should be addressed to:

[X]

This is because the mailbox is in Stephanie's name and your mail
may be rejected if it's not addressed to her.

4.  Be sure to write your authorization code (located in the subject
line of this email) on the outside of the envelope.  If you don't
do this, we will not open your envelope.  We will also be checking
your code against the mailing address you provided when you filled
  out our request form.

5.  If we fail to receive your payment by 21 days after we send
you your authorization code, then you will forfeit your
opportunity to purchase Battle Sphere cartridges in this run.

Thanks so much!!!  We look really forward to hearing your comments
about the game!

-The Scatologic Team

I've been meaning to ask a few questions about the items included in Battlesphere Gold (to you thunderbird) but never knew there was a thread dedicated to it so:

1. I had 2 Battlesphere Gold's, one has a Jaguar logo on the cart that is completely red and another that is white around the edges of the Jaguar logo. Was there a mistake or a decision made to change the appearance of the logo mid-printing (maybe you ran out of stickers from the orginal Battlesphere run)? The reason I ask is becasue the rest of the label is centered just fine and you once stated that there was a strict quality control over such issues?

2. Why did you print washable ink directly to the Scatologic demo disc? Every once in a while my discs get dirty and I like to clean them... that was the first disc that I ever had all the ink bleed off of. Again, thought there were very thorough decisions made during the manufacturing process.

As for the logo... I'm not sure what you're talking about regarding the Jag logo being surrounded by white... There were never any logos made with white around them. Could you possibly upload a scan or a photo? Did you get both copies from ScatoLOGIC? Were they complete or missing pieces? A good close-up of the cart could be most helpful in detecting foul play.

As for the CD... that's a limitation of the low volume CD process. Had I known that upteen batches would eventually be produced, I would have chosen a higher volume process for that.

That's about the extent of it. Any more questions?

Thanks for the responses. As for uploading the scan, I'll try to do it this week or next. The logo looks like the one on the side of the Attack of the Mutant Penguins box (where the Jaguar text is surrounded by white). Everything was included with my package (I compared it with my other Battlesphere Gold package when I got it).

Thunderbird, I have to ask, and I am not trying to stir up anything or get you in an uproar, but I have heard that you guys had plans for a release of Battle Sphere for the X-BOX or Dreamcast, I just was wondering if this were true, as I think it would be cool as hell, and I'm sure that other people would too. Not trying to start rumors or anything, but this would be awesome. cool.gif
