I'm sure that this topic will be pretty vast, especially considering how many Castlevania games there are (and the number of consoles that they span). As such, it only makes sense to start this topic here and see where things go. So, let's talk Castlevania.

I'm generally more into the Castleroid/Metroidvania installments in the series. (For those of you who aren't very familiar with the game play styles of various Castlevania games, Castleroid and Metroidvania refer to Castlevania games that are set up similarly to Metroid games. Rather than having multiple stages, you tend to roam around in one gigantic world in a generally non-linear fashion.) I'm very tempted to say that my favorite game of all-time is Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, preferably the Saturn version, which is also known as Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight, since it was never released in the U.S.

In case you're interested, I recently did a review for the Saturn version of NitM, and I'll probably be posting some NitM vids on my YouTube channel (Check out my signature for the URL.) in the near future. I might post reviews of other Castlevania games in the future, maybe even video reviews.

Anyway, how about sharing some of your favorite Castlevania-related memories, as well as your favorite Castlevania sites. Feel free to talk about your favorite (or least favorite) Castlevania games of all-time, as well.

Here are my two favorite Castlevania sites:

Castlevania Dungeon, The - This is probably the most impressive source of Castlevania information, so it's great for long-time fans and newbies alike.

World Beyond Walls - I'm not really into glitching to the extent that a lot of the people on this particular site, but it's very interesting to see what they come up with over time. Games such as NitM/SotN, for instance, are so vast that new glitching techniques are discovered to this day.

I already saw it this morning, but thanks for posting it, anyway. Honestly, I don't see how anyone could be surprised that there's a Castlevania game coming to Wii in some form (although I was expecting it to be on WiiWare, personally). The screenshots for OoE distinctly show an option on the main menu that mentions Wii, so there's obviously gonna be some form of connectivity. I really hope that it's an original Castlevania game, rather than a port of Curse of Darkness or something. I'd actually like for it to be a 2D Castlevania game in the style of NitM/SotN, but I'm not holding my breath for that.

Whilst searching out one of my older issues of Retro Gamer magazine for the feature on the Bandai Wonderswan I noticed the issue concerned has a six page feature on Castlevania SotN. Very fine it is too.

If you don't have it and wish to search it out via ebay its Issue No.36.

I don't have a scanner unfortunately.
