Yeah, after much searching and looking for quite some time, looks like I am about to come up on a copy of the C64 version of the original game. I am so looking forward to see what this release is like, especially with the SID chip for the sound. Should be a pretty awesome sounding game. Hopefully the best I have heard out of the original game. So looking forward to this!

Zero Punctuation's thoughts on Castlevania Symphony of the Night - Link. I don't usually listen to him, because he talks way too fast, but I did give that a listen. One of the things that he happened to comment on is actually one of my favorite aspects of Castlevania games. I love how certain enemies that could easily be bosses in other games are regular enemies, and I also love how a seemingly weak enemy can unleash all sorts of Hell on you. (It's actually not all that uncommon for a Castlevania game to reintroduce a boss character as a regular enemy later on within the same game.) My favorite example of this in SotN is Frozen Half. Initially, she doesn't seem to be very dangerous, but she'll summon an ice storm if you leave her alive for fifteen or twenty seconds. If you'd like to see what I'm talking about, then you can see Frozen Half in this portion of my SotN playthrough. (That link will take you to the exact point in the video that contains Frozen Half.)
