Do you still play your original XBOX?

I am just asking, especially when you look at the fact that you can actually play ALL of the original games on the original system and not have any textural problems and lighting issues in the graphics. Half Life 2, Chronicles of Riddick and DOOM 3 all look terrible on the 360. Plus factor in that none of the excellent SNK releases play on the 360, and you can see my problem. Was just curious as to who might still slip the OG system on every once in a while. I know I still play mine.

New Xbox 360 Controller

I'm really not sure of what to think about this. I really like the idea of a better d-pad (although I don't think that the twist action is really something that was vital to creating a better d-pad), but what's the deal with not coloring the damn face buttons on this controller? ARGH!!! I need them to be color-coded for use with QTE's, as well as just more easily identifying buttons by what's shown on-screen (seeing as how games color-code them on menus). Here's a vid, demonstrating the new d-pad:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kz6aTTKE6hE

I'll need to think about this one. I really want that improved d-pad, but I'm not sure if it's worth the cost, as well as the lack of uncolored face buttons. I probably wouldn't have this problem if I hadn't played SNES so much when I was younger, causing the reversed layout of the X/Y and A/B buttons to be permanently stuck in my head.

EDIT: Whoa whoa whoa...some people on various sites have pointed out something of great concern to me: Wouldn't a rolling motion (such as a fireball motion in a Street Fighter game) cause a bit of a problem here, depending on how loose the twist action is?

Castlevania: Harmony of Despair (Xbox 360)

Just curious as to whether or not anyone else here has purchased this game. I bought it on day one, and I must say that I've been really enjoying it. (Hey, it's Castlevania, so how could I NOT enjoy it?) It's been getting some pretty lousy reviews, but I find the game to be pretty enjoyable both in single-player and multi-player. Sure, it can be a bit tedious leveling up some characters, but it's totally worth the trouble.

In case anyone here happens to purchase the game, my GamerTag is kevinski com. I won't play certain chapters in multi-player until I clear them in single-player. So far, I've cleared all of the chapters on Normal difficulty, as well as the first chapter on Hard difficulty.

Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising

Is there no OF:DR thread here?

I tried the last three days to complete this game, but F***, either i´am a bad gamer (maybe) or this game is really, really hard. I know, it´s a simulation, but these chinese soldiers hit me from more than 1000feet. My collegues are to stupid to shot and to stupid to take cover. I loved the very first part, but i´am a little bit disappointed of Dragon Rising.

Tell me about your gaming experience.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane

Anyone remember the Dreamcast game Hydro Thunder (which was an Arcade conversion)? While i'm quite a DC fan i have never played this game on the DC until last week. I was surprised by the amount of fans that this game has so wrote my XBLA 'updated' version of the game (Hydro Thunder Hurricane) as a DC retrospective comparison. I have started a thread on xbox.com about it asking for Dreamcast fans to see what they think of this version. There's some good feedback/responses on it (apart from a stupid troll) and i have received PM's on other Dreamcast related topics from it ( ), and now i'd like to get JSII's opinion's (DreamR i'm looking at you )!

Here's my review up on the site:

Serby's Hydro Thunder review

While i am no big fan of waterbased racers, i was surprised at how much i got into this game, both on the Dreamcast as well as the new XBLA incarnation.

LIMBO

O... M... G... !!!

This game is AMA-FUCKING-MAZING!!!

As i received this to review for ThumbPad, i am under an embargo until 2am July 20th (Australia time) before i can go into public details/review, so all i can say for now is: DON'T MISS THIS GAME!!! It comes out next week and if you have a 360 download the free demo (you'll be blown away)! If you don't have a 360, well, you're pretty much fucked! Borrow, buy or trade your 'other' current gen system. Seriously. AWESOME!!!

Check out the short vids that are floating around them interwebs and see what you make of it. As for me, i just got home after another 10 hour night-shift and have to play some more before beddy-byes. This though alone kept me going strong all night!

LIMBO -->
