Can I get a summary of my options related to obtaining a Jag ? I assume eBay is the worst option here.
I remember being given a link to a store that has loads of Atari stuff, even some skunkboards. What was that store again ?
I understand skunkboard is ideal, but I am not sure if I want to invest that much - I've seen some recent threads about prices of $300+ for a skunkboard...
Is then the only alternative to upload my code to Jag the Protector SE cartridge and the cable ? Last I heard that cost, like, $85 ?
I did visit/call few local arcade shops in TriState area, but they don't stock Jag at all...
Anyone here from TriState area willing to part with his spare Jag / Protector SE ?

Back by popular demand and to help support paying for JSII, the VIP has returned. With the upcoming 10 year anniversary of JSII and the plans I have for it, I thought it would be a great idea to give everyone a chance to share in the downloads that will be going up over the next year to celebrate our 10 year anniversary (May 2014). An annual subscription to JSII which will give you access to all forums and all download areas (including the VIP only section) is only $39.99. These funds are used for monthly hosting fees, system upgrades and purchase of additional goodies to share with the community. Playing AVP this morning and while walking around aimlessly poking Marines with the Comb Stick stumbled upon the break room where both a couple of marines and aliens were off the clock playing some poker. This so breaks the rules of after hours conduct by Weyland Industries.
Hey everyone, after a trying month or two for Gary and I, we have reopened the GOAT Store after being forced to close it thanks to personal issues that we both had spring up on us. Hey, one month out of 13 years isn't too bad, right? Especially when we really don't get paid from this enterprise...
Anyway, as a thank you for those of you that have been long time customers for waiting, we have a 10% off coupon code up on the main page. Thanks for sticking with us! We're upgrading our inventory system later this month, and we fully expect that it will make it so that we'll be able to continue to expand and grow in the future! Again, thanks for the support through the years.
The Kasumi Ninja thread, and talking of other Jaguar fighters and fighters for other systems got me to remembering Primal Rage. I decided to start a separate thread to not d-rail the KN thread too much, though comparisons back to KN are welcome.
I almost always forget about Primal Rage when discussing fighters on the Jaguar, and I don't know why, I even own the game. I like the game, though I've never gotten any good at it. I know it's less discussed on the forums because it's a CD game, which are all talked about less do to less people owning the JagCD and the games, and only a couple of real stand-outs in the CD library.
All that being said, load times aside, I like PR on the Jaguar, though I wish the frame-rate could always be as smooth as when you play the same character against itself.
Where do others think it fits into the Jaguar fighter collection, and how it compares to other versions, from 16-64bit. I've heard that the Jaguar, 3DO (and 32X?) versions were developed together (or with close collaboration anyway) at Time Warner.

I'll tell you this much, for a system that supposedly "Sucked", it really is commanding those amazing prices again. Although some games that seemed to retain value have slipped as of late, AVP being one I am talking about. I am quite surprised to see the Homebrew stuff commanding premium prices the way they are though. Both BattleSPHERE Gold and GORF are just insane anymore. I guess it will be crazy to see what something like Blackout ends up going for sometime soon.
I just, laugh though when I see Pro Controllers going for $75.00 and up. Craziness. I know they are "R@R3", but it's a controller. I figured that maybe some Chinese knock off market would have taken advantage of this one already and we might have had generic Jaguar Pro Controllers already.
As the norm, Jaguar systems and CD's are just crazy. I thought the ceiling had been hit about five years ago, but man, over $100.00 for Jaguar systems and if it has a CD system, you could potentially get up to $400.00 for it! How far do you think this ceiling can go? It makes it hard for me because I collect for three different systems where stuff is getting crazy in the Jaguar, 3DO, and Turbografx-16. It just get's nuts. Thoughts?
